Visiting by Sea - the approaches to the River OrwellClick here for an indicative map (81k) of the Felixstowe port area. This map is indicative only and must not be used for navigation of the River Orwell. Visitors are reminded that up-to-date charts are required to navigate this busy commercial river.Another important point to note for anyone planning to arrive by night is that Felixstowe and Harwich are both very busy ports, operating 24 hours per day. Picking out buoys at night is very difficult and the East Coast is an area of many shifting sandbanks. Please take great care over your navigation. The Royal Harwich Y.C. is located on the south bank of the River Orwell upriver from Pin Mill and about 500 metres past the No 6 Navigation buoy. The Club has pontoon berths for visitors directly in front of the clubhouse. Visiting by RoadFor general area map by Multimap click here From the West (The Midlands, Cambridge, etc), follow the A14 East towards
